How we score: the BMX.es score
Editorial rating, not buyer reviews
The BMX.es score is a 0–10 rating we give some complete bikes. We calculate it with a fixed formula from the specs the manufacturer publishes on its official site (and, where available, a price and a shipping page we have seen, with a date). We have not tested these bikes hands-on and we do not imply it: it is an informed reading of the spec sheet, not a field test.
These are not buyer reviews
Article 20.4 of the Spanish consumer protection law (TRLGDCU) requires disclosing whether published reviews come from consumers who used or bought the product and how this is checked. BMX.es publishes no consumer reviews or ratings, and no shop star averages: the BMX.es score is set by our editorial team and does not come from buyers, verified or otherwise.
Affiliate links have no influence: the formula ignores whether a bike has an affiliate link, and no brand pays to be listed or for its score.

When we publish a score
If a verified figure is missing, that criterion stays “n/a” and nothing is made up. We calculate a score for every bike with a spec sheet, but we only publish it once we have a verified, dated price and data for every criterion (100 % of the weight). Scores are published once we have verified prices: until then, the bike is shown with its specs and no score.
Levels
Each bike’s level also comes from the spec sheet, not marketing: beginner (bikes that do not reach intermediate: hi-ten frame, or bearings not sealed throughout), intermediate (chromoly tubes in the frame and sealed bearings in the BB and hubs) and advanced (full chromoly frame and fork, sealed throughout and at least one double-wall rim).
